Things that haunt my memory, uselessly:

a pledge drive from WGBH Boston in the 70s that involved some kind of kabuki sung by the station director, with the words "contribute contribute contribute".

Though it might have been a Mikado joke I was not ready to get having not yet seen the Mikado at that age.

Sometimes this just reappears in my brain and I wonder if I imagined it all. Except that it's music, so I didn't.


Human brains have SO MUCH IDLE TIME. It's no wonder we're going to destroy everything around us.
