Valheim’s simulation of sailing is at once frustrating and fun.

It’s like Minecraft x a Zelda game, with a PS1/2 era nostalgia in the models & lack-of-textures, but modern lighting & particles. It’s shockingly gorgeous in motion. The simulations are satisfyingly complex. The game mechanics are forgiving.

In brief, 3 million purchases on Steam is no fluke for Valheim. It’s $20. You’ll get a lot more than $20 of fun out of it.
